Migration Brewing has officially signed a long-term lease within the EcoFlats building located at 3947 North Williams Street. The space that was formerly home to the Hopworks Bike Bar will be transformed into Migration Brewing’s first venture in North Portland. The location is just under 3,000 square feet and features a sprawling 2,000 square feet of back patio, coupled with some sidewalk seating.
While much of the existing bar and kitchen infrastructure will remain in place, Migration Brewing has begun a six-week tenant improvement project to refresh the interior and redevelop the outdoor seating area.
“We’re really excited about this opportunity. This is a great chance for us to expand our brand to a new neighborhood that is bustling with great energy,” said CEO McKean Banzer-Lausberg. “We’ve worked really hard to stay positive over the past year and have been looking for creative ways to keep growing in a pandemic. We feel very fortunate to be in a position to take on this project,” states Banzer-Lausberg.
With the improvements underway, Migration is expecting to open for business in early March.
“We’re excited to bring a lot of programming over from our original NE Glisan St location. There will be 18 taps of fresh beer, great food and an amazing patio,” said Pubs Director Colin Rath. Migration Brewing has historically taken pride in community integration and this project is no different.
“It was really important to us to reach out to the other brewpubs and businesses in the neighborhood to let them know our plans, and we look forward to being involved with the local neighborhood associations,” Rath said.
