Drake’s Folly Beer Festival

drakesfolly4-504x789Gourmet Italian sausages sizzling on the grill, hand-rolled fine cigars, pretzel necklaces and more than a dozen craft brewers, all in downtown Titusville for one of the region’s favorite annual events, which will be held this weekend outside of The Blue Canoe Brewery.

More than 1,200 people are expected to attend Saturday’s fifth annual Drake’s Folly Brew Fest, featuring at least 17 breweries from the tri-state area — and one traveling all the way from Colorado — with more possibly making the journey to the event that is becoming a favorite for Oil Festival revelers, as well as the brewers.

The event will be held in two sessions Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m.

Blue Canoe co-owner Jeremy Potocki said the atmosphere created by holding the event in the center of town makes it a unique experience.

“This one’s pretty fun,” he said, “because it’s a street party kind of setup, and the brewers all like it.”
