Behind Planning a Nationwide Event

August 15 marks the day that Bell’s Two Hearted Ale debuted first in 1997, and Bell’s Brewery is pulling out all the stops for its beer named the Best Beer in America by the American Homebrewers Association.

More than 100 special events across the states that Bell’s distributes in will mark the 22-year anniversary taking place throughout the week.

A dedicated sales team with representatives in each region makes this possible, said Communications Manager Josh Smith.

They work with our retail and distributor partners to plan and execute events like this but also beer dinners, tastings and other events. This is one of the ways we are celebrating the incredible honors Two Hearted has received this year,” Smith said.

Beginning as a winter seasonal, Two Hearted Ale soon became a staple, and surpassed Bell’s Oberon as a best-seller in 2013. It’s brewed with just one hop variety, Centennial.

This is Bell’s first national celebration, though it does have experience holding other week-long celebrations throughout the year. These include Bright Night, a celebration of the summer solstice, and Darker Nights, a celebration of the winter solstice and stouts.

Through social media and the website, Bell’s is promoting the anniversary, along with participating accounts. A celebration will take place at the Eccentric Cafe in the brewery’s headquarters of Kalamazoo, Michigan with food specials, discounts on Two Hearted Merchandise, and a Beer Garden Fish Fry.
