Upland Brewing Company will close its 82nd Street taproom location in Indianapolis on March 29 after deciding not to renew its lease, the brewery announced.
The location, which opened in December 2022 and was first announced in September of that year marked the seventh site for the brewery, which was founded in 1998 in Bloomington, Indiana.
While the lease runs through June, the company said it chose to close early to allow staff to transition into open positions at other locations. Brewery officials cited lower-than-expected traffic as a factor in the decision.
All other Upland locations will remain open. The brewery said it continues to invest in existing operations, including a new roof at its Bloomington facility, a patio revamp at its College Avenue location and the recent purchase of its FSQ building.
The 82nd Street taproom, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, will serve customers through March 29.
