Serving Up Creature Comforts

Creature Comforts are said by Co-Founder Adam Beauchamp to be “the things in life that you enjoy after a long day of chasing your passions.” This is what he and his partner David Stein aspired to design with the launch of Creature Comforts Brewing Company in Athens, Georgia.

Beauchamp was originally drawn to nature and biology, leading him to the profession as a molecular biologist. “I’ve maintained that understanding, and attitude during the development of my brewing career,” he said. “Everyone at CCBC is inspired by curiosity and creativity. Our mantra is ‘Crave Curiosity.’”

The name was decided upon by Stein who had a friend making prints of creatures while in college. “David was inspired to call his homebrew operation — and hopefully one day a large brewery — Creature Comforts,” explained Beauchamp. “To us the name describes our product, the beers, as being comfortable to us, and the folks who drink our beer, the creatures.”

Where Beauchamp wants to stand apart is through CCBC commitment to quality. “That includes of course the beers, but also extends to our staff, our events and all of our interacitons,” he said. “Everyone that works for CCBC has a role and responsibility for ensuring that every opportunity we have either meet or exceed expectations.

“As a leadership team, we have a ton of experience among us and conduct ourselves as business professionals at all times. Our staff is, in my opinion, one of the finest ever assembled for a brewery our size.”

For the vast majority of breweries throughout the U.S. it’s about making great beer and growing sales. However, while making great beer is at the forefront of CCBC, Beauchamp wants to exist for something different. “I want the company to grow organically, and I want to continue our path of continuous improvement on the quality front,” he said. “I’d like us to continue to experiment with new styles, processes and ingredients. I want to be at the top of the list for best craft breweries to work for.”
