New Holland Brewing Continues Specialty Carhartt Brew

In 2014, Carhartt, America’s legendary work wear brand since 1889, and New Holland Brewing Co., brewers of craft beer and spirits, collaborated on a brew crafted to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the iconic clothing manufacturer and pay tribute to the hard-working people who wear the brand. The brew was a success, thanks to the shared values of the Michigan-born companies, and is scheduled to come back for a mid-September seasonal release, with even broader distribution and stronger availability.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the continuation of this project,” says New Holland president and founder, Brett VanderKamp. “The Carhartt Woodsman remains an easy going, session-strength pale ale with a unique signature from barrel aging.”

New Holland VP of Brand and Lifestyle, Fred Bueltmann, echoed this excitement, “The conversation and connection we all felt from this collaboration was really remarkable. It made so many people happy that we all agreed we had to bring back the beer and continue our toast to craftsmanship.”

A sneak preview of the beer happens this week, August 4-6, at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, Utah. New Holland and Carhartt will be onsite at this show for beer sampling, book signings of Bueltmann’s “The Beervangelist’s Guide to the Galaxy”, and to raise a glass to this remarkable collaboration.

The public launch of the beer will kick off in mid-September with a series of events from Detroit to Denver, as the beer once again makes its way to the Great American Beer Festival, Sept. 24-26. More information to come on stops in Michigan, Missouri, and Colorado.

The Carhartt Woodsman, Barrel-Aged Pale Ale, will release in states across the country, wherever New Holland is sold, in September 2015, and be sold until supplies last. Beer description: Locally-grown Cascade hops bring a brightness to this barrel-aged American pale ale. Malt sweetness and toasted oak combine for a smooth, refreshing finish. Pairings: Burgers, BBQ, and a job well done.
