For many brewery founders, customer profiles, growth targets, and capital strategies are defined long before the first pint is poured. Dan Tilly took the opposite approach.
“I built the brand for myself,” said Tilly, founder of Mount Holly Beer. What began as a side project has evolved into a brewery producing roughly 1,200 barrels annually without a formal business plan, outside investment, or even a clearly defined target customer.
