Walnut River Brewing Company is excited to announce its February release: Maniacal Monk.
The brew of a good monk gone bad. You may find this Trappist-style Tripel stronger, hoppier, and spicier than most. Pilsner malt, noble hops, and Belgian yeast yield a deep golden elixir delivering righteous flavor. Expect clove, pepper, and a light mouthfeel that gives way to a crisp, dry finish. Try one. Break the silence. Tell your friends.
“Monk is very different style from the other beers we make,” said BJ Hunt, Director of Business Operations and co-owner. “It’s a great example of a Belgian beer.”
“It’s fun to see when people love something that you create,” said Rick Goehring, Head Brewer and co-owner. “We put a lot of craft and care into everything we make and sometimes a beer just finds a home with people. It’s one of the best parts of my job, other than drinking beer, of course.”
“This one is definitely a fan favorite,” said Ben Wheeler, Director of Marketing at Walnut River Brewing Company. “When I start working here back in July, I remember people asking me, ‘When is Monk coming back?’ It’s one of those special beers that people just love.”
“I think one of the things that makes Maniacal Monk and other Belgian beers is the flavors produced by the yeast strain we use,” said Travis Rohrberg, Director of Quality Control and Distribution and co-owner. “The esters and phenols combine to create some really great flavors and aromas.”
“This beer is good,” says Jay Sanderson, Director of Sales. “Seriously good.”
Want to give it a try? Stop by the Walnut River Brewing Taproom at 111 W. Locust in El Dorado or PourHouse ICT in Wichita. Both places will have it on tap and in the beer cooler to go.
