This winter, Sincere Cider is raising can to mother nature through a partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit dedicated to global reforestation. Every case sold of Sincere’s citrusy seasonal fall/winter Blood Orange release will plant a tree in Northern California to help heal the Dixie fire burn scar. Sincere originally launched its tree-planting initiative in June 2023. This winter’s one-case-for-one-tree effort will mean an additional 713 trees will reforest the Dixie area. That’s more than double the number of trees planted in the first six months of the partnership, bringing the total 2023 reforestation effort to 1,300 trees. Sincere’s fans will have a chance to increase their impact through a social media campaign launching on December 10, 2023.
Founded in 2020 by Bex Pezzullo, a veteran hospitality professional and Northern California native, independently-owned Sincere Cider is a true expression of the crisp, clean flavors of contemporary cidercraft. Made and canned in California, Sincere is a special blend of French wine yeast and sustainably sourced culinary apples from Washington’s Yakima Valley. The cider is fermented until dry, then back-sweetened with just a touch of fresh-pressed apple juice for a balanced and delicious taste. In 2022, North Bay Bohemian readers voted Sincere Cider “Best of the North Bay: Napa” in the Beer, Wine, and Spirits category. Cans are available at retailers throughout the state and in Nevada, as well as on the Sincere Cider website for shipping across most states in the U.S.
Sincere Cider’s Blood Orange seasonal fall/winter release pairs its signature balanced dry cider with the regal, vibrant juice of blood oranges and the light spice of fragrant rosemary (5.9% abv, 8 grams of sugar, no added sugar, naturally gluten free and vegan).
“I’m proud and passionate about partnering with an organization like One Tree Planted. They’re making a tangible difference for our communities and environment,” says Pezzullo who holds a Level One certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers and originally got her start managing beverage programs at high volume restaurants in San Francisco (Barbacco Eno Trattoria and Bar Bambino), where her expertise and curation of the lists landed both restaurants in San Francisco Chronicle’s Top 100 Restaurants. “Our harvest relies on healthy trees. Sincere was in its infancy during the time of the Dixie fire and I was driving past the area regularly to visit family. Seeing how much land and forest was lost left an imprint. I’ve been looking for a way to help support the area and this effort makes a direct impact.”
Starting on December 10, 2023 and continuing for 10 days, Sincere is bringing its campaign to Instagram and TikTok. Every tag or mention of Sincere Cider will plant another tree in the California burn scar (up to 500 trees) bringing the total 2023 effort to 1,800 trees.
“I’m happy we can make such a meaningful impact in just seven months,” says Pezzullo. “We’ll continue this campaign to reforest the Dixie area in 2024.”
