Royal Docks Brewing Co. will release a Pro Football Hall of Fame Edition of the autumn favorite, Leatherhead IPA. The beer can will feature special edition artwork and a chance to win a Backyard BBQ with a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a small brewery like ours. I’m really proud of everyone on both of these teams because they have worked so hard to make this happen,” said John Bikis, Co-founder RDBCo. “Having grown up in Canton, I’m really excited about this partnership and the idea that Royal Docks Brewing Co. will forever be a part of the football history that is so important to our area and the State of Ohio.”
Leatherhead IPA was first released for the 2017 football season. It’s an American IPA inspired by the India Pale Ales of the United States’ pre-prohibition era that would have been enjoyed around the time that the National Football League was founded in Canton, Ohio in 1920.
“The original inspiration for this beer was a speech that I heard Hall of Fame President & CEO Dave Baker give when he first came to the Hall of Fame. He talked about these leather-clad heroes from a hundred years ago and how among today’s football heroes he counts the parents who bring their kids to the field and volunteer time and money to teach the values that the game is built upon.” said Royal Docks Brewmaster Dave Sutula. “It’s awesome that we’re able to do this with the Hall of Fame because the beer was always meant as a bridge between football’s storied past and the fans who make the game what it is today,”
The Backyard BBQ Sweepstakes will provide one lucky winner and 19 of their friends and family with a Backyard BBQ experience with a Pro Football Hall of Famer. The BBQ will take place at the winner’s place of residence and they will be provided with all-inclusive food, drinks, and the company of a Gold Jacket (a term used for a living member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame). The sweepstakes will open up with the release of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Edition of Leatherhead IPA and will run through mid-September. Full details will be available here.
Leatherhead IPA will be released in stores Friday, July 26, 2019 at on-premise and retail locations throughout Ohio.
