Migration Wins Accolade from SBA as Oregon’s Small Business of the Year

Migration Brewing has been selected as Oregon’s 2024 Small Business of the Year.  They are the first Oregon craft brewery to win this award.  As part of the SBA’s national small business week celebration, Migration Brewing will represent Oregon at the official award ceremony in Washington D.C. April 28- 29.  Since 1964, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs.  This year’s celebration will be April 28–May 4 and will spotlight the resilience of small business owners who are doing their part to power our nation’s economic comeback.

The year’s event will honor 33 million small businesses for their perseverance, ingenuity, triumphs and creativity.  More than 60 small business owners from 50 states are being recognized and are in the running for a national award.

“We are extremely humbled and excited about this company achievement.  Migration has worked with the SBA since we opened in 2010 when we used an equipment loan to purchase our first brewing system. Their support over the past 15 years has been instrumental to our company’s success,” states CEO & Co-Founder McKean Banzer-Lausberg.

National Small Business Week events will also include access to federal resources and opportunities to meet other business owners and industry experts.

Highlights of the week will be the awards ceremony in Washington D.C., a four-city roadshow tour, and a virtual summit where small businesses can develop one-on-one connections.  Locally, Migration Brewing is coordinating with the Oregon SBA office to schedule a celebration party at the company’s Gresham production facility (18188 NE Wilkes Road, 97230) on Thursday, May 2.
