Kona Brewing Hawaii is excited to announce the launch of its new commercial campaign set to debut in April 2025. The “Born Here. For Here.” campaign features the popular local duo Da Bruddahs, David Bell and Brutus La Benz, who bring to life the brand’s iconic laid-back ethos and deep-rooted island pride.
The first body of commercial work since becoming an independent brewery once again, the approach marks a fresh take on a familiar message and reflects Kona Brewing Hawaii’s latest chapter. Under new leadership, the brand is embracing a renewed sense of purpose and innovation, bringing forth ideas that continue to honor the heritage of Kona Brewing while pushing the brand forward.

The campaign, which spotlights Big Wave Golden Ale, one of Kona’s top-selling beers, will be promoted across broadcast television, radio, social media, and print advertising. Featuring creative never-before-seen shots of the signature beer, their new Wave ad takes viewers on a ‘tasty ride’ that captures the exciting journey from tap pour to first sip as if surfing a sun-soaked barrel inside a pint glass.
The focus on local talent and lifestyle is part of Kona Brewing’s growing commitment to community and culture. With its freshly minted tagline of “Born Here. For Here.”, the ad resonates not only with kamaʻāina (local residents) but also with beer lovers from around the world who are drawn to the brand’s unique combination of quality, taste, and island spirit.
