Atco, New Jersey brewery and taproom Brotherton Brewing Company proudly announces that it will reopen its doors on Saturday, June 27 under new ownership. Led by hospitality industry veteran Eric De Angelis, the brewery will continue its on-site production while also serving as a community hub, welcoming guests of all ages to enjoy weekly music, trivia, and special events. The taproom will also be available for full-buyout for private parties.
In the spirit of reestablishing the taproom as a local gathering space for everyone, Brotherton will host two full days of family-friendly celebrations on June 27 and 28. On the 27th, the taproom will feature live music from 2-9pm with performances from Fin and Uncle John’s Band, as well as food vendors including The Nugget Chicks. On the 28th, guests can expect a musical performance from Grace Haley, food from JAMS Eats and JR Hot Dogs, new drink releases including a house-made non-alcoholic root beer, and activities such as face painting.
“As a former customer, I’ve always seen a great deal of potential in the Brotherton brand. I’m bringing a ‘hospitality-first’ mindset to the space, as I see an opportunity to pair amazing beer with a first-rate guest experience,” says Eric De Angelis, owner. “My goal is for Brotherton to become synonymous with community, acting as both a go-to hangout spot for locals and destination for visitors. While we will remain focused on serving a great product, we will also be offering more comfortable seating, an immersive taproom layout, and regular activations that will encourage guests to settle in through their afternoons and evenings.”
Joining the Brotherton team as Head Brewer is Kyle Lieving, who comes to New Jersey by way of South Carolina. Lieving brings innovative brewing experience from Commonhouse Aleworks, Wind & Waves Brewing, Chucktown Brewery, and Indigo Reef Brewing Company, all in Charleston, SC. The taproom will open with 10 beers on rotation, offering a variety of styles and ABVs including the flagship Brotherton IPA, a selection of pilsners and sours, a hefeweizen, a kolsch, and a hazy IPA. Beer prices will range between $5 and $7.50, and guests will be able to order each on-tap beer in a 16-ounce mug, half pour, or as part of a tasting flight. Abstaining guests will also be able to choose from a host of non-alcoholic options.
In addition to its expansive draft list, the new Brotherton will offer a variety of six-pack cans to go, available for purchase during all operating hours. Following open, the team will plan for distribution at local restaurants, bars, and retailers around South Jersey.
The refurbished taproom will offer 15 bar seats alongside a variety of 40 tables/benches/booths that are welcoming to dates, small groups, and larger parties alike. Shaded patio seating will also be available in the beer garden to guests, weather permitting.
