Bauhaus Brew Labs is proud to announce the release of Tetra sparkling water with THC and CBD. Tetra, which takes its name from the “T” in THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), is Bauhaus’ first foray into the newly legal hemp-derived edible cannabinoid space in Minnesota, and the brewery isn’t pulling any punches. Tetra contains 5mg of delta-9 THC – the state’s legal per-serving limit for THC in edible cannabinoids — and 15mg of CBD, both of which are derived from 100% Minnesota-grown hemp.
Even prior to Minnesota legalizing the manufacture and sale of edible products containing small amounts of THC, Bauhaus conducted intensive research and development to produce a THC-infused beverage that delivers a great flavor profile as well as the value customers expect in cannabinoid beverages. Bauhaus Lab Tech Elaine Kappel played a significant role in developing Tetra, and they explain, “[w]e wanted to create a THC beverage that was rooted in Bauhaus’ scientific approach and also felt welcoming to our customers. Tetra’s development started with data and trials, and evolved into a flavorful beverage that is both approachable and sessionable.” Kappel also stated that each can of Tetra will feature a QR code that links to a Certificate of Analysis (COA) describing the cannabinoid content of a given batch.
The first Tetra flavor will be an easy drinking lemon-lime, but the brewery plans to release several additional flavors as well as other types of cannabinoid beverages, including a “full-spectrum”1 line of THC-infused sparkling waters and a “broad-spectrum”2 CBD-infused sparkling hop water beverage. Bauhaus President and Co-Founder Matt Schwandt explains, “product innovation is one of our favorite things here at Bauhaus, and I am thrilled to be able to leverage our creativity in developing cannabinoid beverages.”
Beginning on Monday, September 19, Tetra will be available for takeaway purchases in 4-packs of 12oz cans in the Bauhaus taproom. Customers will also be able to enjoy 12oz servings of Tetra on-premise in Bauhaus’ taproom. Bauhaus intends to self-distribute Tetra to various duly licensed retailers in the coming weeks and months.
