Mother Earth Releases New Project X Hazy IPA & The Return of Sin Tax

Mother Earth Brew Co. is gearing up for a big weekend with a double beer release that pairs innovation with nostalgia. With a rollout beginning this week, fans can get their hands on Motor Skills, the newest experimental hazy IPA in the brewery’s Project X Series, along with the long-awaited annual return of Sin Tax Imperial Peanut Butter Stout. Both beers will be available in cans and on draft at Mother Earth taprooms and throughout the brewery’s distribution network.

Crafted around a vibrant hop blend of Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic, and Nelson Sauvin, Motor Skills leans into the expressive, fruit-forward profile that defines the Project X Series. The latest collab in Mother Earth’s rotating Hazy program features original work from the insanely talented @midmindarts. If you’ve seen the label, you know his style immediately — intricate, surreal, colorful without being loud, and impossible to forget. His artwork sets the tone for the beer: fluid, expressive, and layered.

Returning for its annual spotlight, Sin Tax brings back all the rich, roasty, peanut-butter-laced decadence that has made it one of Mother Earth’s most beloved seasonal releases. Built on a foundation of chocolatey, robust malts and natural peanut butter, the Imperial Stout delivers a smooth, warming finish that hits especially well this time of year.

It’s a winter staple that tends to disappear quickly.

“This release really showcases both sides of what we love to do,” said Matt Watterson, Head Brewer at Mother Earth Brew Co. at Mother Earth Brew Co. “Motor Skills lets us experiment with new hop combinations, while Sin Tax is a fan favorite with a huge following. Dropping them together felt like the right way to close out the season.”

Both beers roll out Saturday across Mother Earth’s taprooms in Idaho and Socal, with wider distribution hitting shelves shortly after. Fans are encouraged to grab them early — especially Sin Tax — as quantities are limited.
