What Makes Fort Myers to Continue This Unique Consumer Driver

Giving consumers new and old a reason to “sip and shop,” Fort Myers Brewing has found success in developing a unique concept to connect with its community artists.

Inspired by the open-air nighttime bazaars, these “Handcrafted Night Markets” bring something unique to the area – a casual environment for people to eat, drink, shop, socialize, and be entertained — and it gives a boost to the brewery’s sales as well.

The events feature locally made merchandise, crafts, and art in an event that appeals to all ages – local vendors are onsite selling unique, handmade items with everything from soaps, candles, jewelry, and even hot sauce.

“Throughout our 10-year history, we’ve welcomed various vendors to sell their goods at our taproom,” the brewery said. “Our Handcrafted Night Market was established following the pandemic as a way to support our local small business community by providing a venue to showcase their craft.”

Being a small business itself, Fort Myers established regular events to unite and empower the community by serving as a platform for showcasing local talent including musicians, food trucks, and entrepreneurs.

The Night Markets were developed to help attract shoppers looking to shop locally while enjoying craft beer, live music, and new foods.

“Musicians really help to drive the crowds,” they told Brewer, “as well as holiday shoppers looking for unique gifts.”

Fort Myers typically looks to host these events on Friday evenings and close to holiday weekends about once a month.

Since establishing these events, they said that they have grown a network of artisan vendors.

“Members of the community helped us organize a group that was truly local, and consisted of creative, handmade goods that are unique to the area,” they said.

The brewery brings in a handful of partners for each event that offer a various selection of goods, and they do like to mix it up with everything from jewelry, pottery, soaps, and candles to plants, cookies, and more.

“There’s something unique for shoppers to experience at each event, and vendors have a regular opportunity to gain exposure with new potential customers,” they added.
