Some may think of Soft Parade or Local’s Light when it comes to Short’s Brewing, but for folks who know the brewery, the beer that comes to mind is Huma Lupa Licious.
“I’d been dreaming of Huma since I started homebrewing while at Western Michigan University around 1999—I wasn’t old enough to drink yet so I had to get creative.” said Joe Short, founder and owner at Short’s Brewing company. “Huma is named for the hop plant, Humulus Lupulus, and is a big, 7.7% ABV Midwest IPA made using Cascade, and Chinook, Columbus, Centennial, and Palisade hops. Drinking a Huma is like experiencing hop-and-malt-theme-park in your mouth.
“It’s the beer that built Short’s Brewing, it put us on the map in 2004 when we first opened. It’s my favorite beer of all time, so for our 21st birthday I wanted to go big and do something awesome for the Huma fans out there.”
So the brewery decided to create a limited edition, twenty-one pack of Huma for only $21, that’s a buck a can, and one can for each year the brewery has been open. Keep your eyes peeled—the Huma 21 pack also boasts new artwork that reflects Joe’s experience with the beer and includes a chance to win a trip Up North to stay in the Huma Lodge.
Find $21 Huma 21 pack at Short’s Bellaire and Elk Rapids locations and at participating retailers starting June 20, while supplies last.
