It was a happy Friday for South Loop Brewing on January 30, 2015.
The Chicago-based brewery was approved by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission as an official, legal state of illinois craft brewing company.
“That, fine ladies and gentleman, was the last hurdle we had to clear. We’re there. Free to brew. Street legal,” the brewery posted on their website Friday evening. “None of us can believe it, but it’s a sweet, sweet feeling … And it’s time to celebrate … And then make some damn beer.”
Launched in 2014, South Loop Brewing Company is one of Chicago’s newest craft breweries, whose family of beers aim to weave the spirit of our favorite lakefront neighborhood with our unique and inspired recipes.
The brewery began as a production-only alternating proprietorship with Aquanaut Brewing Company, but will now be able to progress toward a permanent South Loop location with a taproom.
