MadTree has announced that MadTree Light Lager, the brewery’s newest innovation and taproom favorite, will be available in retail stores across Ohio and Kentucky early September. What started as a challenge to brew a new gold standard of light beer evolved into a fan-favorite-beer after months of development and guest feedback at MadTree’s three locations. MadTree Light Lager delivers what other light beers cannot: a smooth, classic, and crisp taste at just 95 calories and four carbs — proving that light beer doesn’t have to compromise on flavor.
“We set out to create a light beer that would bring people together without sacrificing the quality our community expects from MadTree,” said Brady Duncan, co-founder of MadTree. “MadTree Light Lager represents everything we stand for – connecting our community through great-tasting beer that fits any occasion. Whether you’re hosting in your backyard or enjoying one of MadTree’s patios, this beer is made to keep the good times going.”
MadTree Light Lager is currently on tap at MadTree’s Oakley Taproom and will be available soon at Alcove in Over-The-Rhine and Parks & Rec in Blue Ash. The beer will be available in 12-packs and 24-packs at grocery and convenience stores throughout MadTree’s distribution footprint starting in September.
“Our brewhouse and taprooms continue to be the place where innovation happens,” said Brittany Frey, MadTree’s Head Brewer. “Our taprooms always include a long list of classic and new beers, and we listen to feedback. The response to MadTree Light Lager has been incredible – our guests have been part of this journey from day one, and now we’re thrilled to share it with the wider community.”
MadTree is hosting its inaugural Light Night on Saturday, September 6, to celebrate MadTree Light Lager’s milestone. Carriers will headline a free show that celebrates Cincinnati’s music scene and will include two local openers. Cincinnati native and Carriers frontman, Curt Kiser, is partnering with MadTree to bring the event to life.
MadTree Light Lager joins the brewery’s mission of connecting people to nature and each other — the beer is crafted for connection. As a B Corp-certified company and member of 1% for the Planet, MadTree donates 1% of all sales, including sales of MadTree Light Lager, to local sustainable nonprofits.
In addition to the debut of MadTree Light Lager, MadTree Light Lime with Sea Salt and Cincitucky Trail Lager will also be available in September.
