Karl Strauss Teams with Firefighters For New Beer

Karl Strauss fans can donate back to the local Costa Mesa Firefighters with a new beer on tap: Local 1465 Belgian Witbier.

Some of the brewery’s favorite collaboration beers are the ones that just sorta fall into place. When its buddies at the Costa Mesa Fire Department reached out to see if Karl Strauss would ever consider brewing a beer with the firefighters, the brewery jumped at the opportunity.

Introducing the latest small-batch beer to hit the Costa Mesa brewpub: Local 1465 Belgian Witbier. This crisp and refreshing Belgian-style wheat beer is brewed with coriander and orange peel. As for who brewed it? That would be Karl Strauss brewer Chris Sullivan, along with some of Costa Mesa’s finest: the guys from Local 1465 themselves.

This tasty Witbier is already a great excuse to head down to Karl Strauss, but here’s an even better reason: $1 of every pint of Local 1465 sold will be donated back to the Costa Mesa Firefighters Association.

“We are so thankful that these men and women protect our city and help keep us all safe, so we’re honored to support them in any way we can,” the brewery said.
