Fretboard Brewing Co. has completed a series of updates to its Blue Ash taproom designed to improve the space’s live-music capabilities and make service more convenient for guests.
The improvements at the Cincinnati-area brewery’s 5800 Creek Road location include a 10-by-6-foot video wall, replacement of the stage lighting system, including laser lighting, and a refreshed taproom ceiling intended to improve sound quality.
The changes build on Fretboard’s existing focus on live entertainment. The taproom hosts live music every Friday and Saturday evening and is open seven days a week. The brewery also operates a full-service barbecue kitchen offering wood-smoked meats and burgers.
Additional service changes are scheduled to begin Oct. 2. Customers will be able to order late-night food through a quick-service option, while mobile ordering will allow guests to order directly from their tables.
Fretboard will also extend its Blue Ash taproom hours on Fridays and Saturdays, remaining open until midnight.
The brewery plans to mark its ninth anniversary with a Nov. 14 celebration featuring a performance by local band Under the Sun and a limited release of Juicy Improv, a West Coast IPA infused with grapefruit.
Fretboard Brewing opened in November 2017 and distributes its beers to more than 350 bars and restaurants in Cincinnati and surrounding areas, with distribution extending north to Dayton. The brewery specializes in craft ales and traditional-style lagers, with beer available in draft, 12-ounce cans and 16-ounce cans.
Among Fretboard’s past awards are a 2018 World Beer Cup gold medal for Vlad Pilsner and a 2018 RateBeer recognition as Best New Brewery in Ohio. Vlad Pilsner was also named Cincinnati’s Favorite Beer in 2026.
