As the Lincoln Children’s Zoo reopens to members and the public, this week a brand-new beer hits store shelves with proceeds supporting the Zoo’s expansion project.
Named Zookeeper Pink Guava, this fierce, limited-edition pale ale offers a light, refreshing body with an exotic twist due to the addition of fresh guava puree.
Empyrean Head Brewer Rich Chapin explains, “Pairing the pink guava fruit with Nebraska-grown Comet hops gives the pale ale deep citrus hop aromas and highlights of strawberry, apple, and pear.”
The box exhibits bright colors of a hot pink sunset on the Serengeti and the world’s fastest land animal – the cheetah.
Lincoln Children’s Zoo President John Chapo said, “as we patiently wait to allow the cheetahs to fully settle into their new home at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo during the second phase of our expansion, we are honored to have one of our newest zoo residents featured by Empyrean.”
Proceeds from the sale of Zookeeper Pink Guava Pale Ale will be donated to from Empyrean Brewing Co., Super Saver, Russ’s Market and K&Z Distributing. For a limited time seek out Zookeeper in 6-pack bottles across Lincoln and throughout surrounding distribution areas.
