Dust Bowl Brewing Company announces the release of Red Pony Lager available now in 16 oz. cans and draft. The specialty release is the second this year in the limited series planned for 2023.
“We wanted another beer that had great drinkability that would set itself apart from our other lighter beers,” shares Don Oliver, Brewmaster. “With Red Pony, we get that easy-drinking quality with a light red color, and depth of malt character that is subtle and improves with each sip.”
This crisp, refreshing Red Lager offers an enjoyable 4.5% ABV and low bitterness with only 12 IBU. Red Pony showcases a light amber color with a hint of red. The specialty release joins Dust Bowl Brewing Company’s robust portfolio, which currently offers 13 year-round beers, seven specialty releases, rotating seltzers along with an extensive line-up of draft-only beers that cater to on-premise accounts and the brewery’s own taprooms.
The package branding is a whimsical play on graphics featuring a bucking rabbit in place of an expected pony. The rabbit is a nod to the brewery’s Oklahoma roots and ties to the Dust Bowl era, when rabbits took on significance as both friend and foe to the farmers. The rabbit, known as “Hops” to the marketing team, has been used as a “sub brand” graphic since the inception of the brewery. Beer fans may have already spotted “Hops” in Dust Bowl taprooms, bottle caps and other packaging.
