This summer, Dogfish Head is going all out for its 30th birthday — and the celebrations are as bold and off-centered as the brewery itself. From Friday, June 20 through Monday, June 23, fans can join in the Manifest the Awesomeness weekend, a multi-day party packed with live music, giveaways, food specials, fresh tattoos, and a new limited-edition collaboration beer brewed just for the occasion.
As if turning 30 weren’t exciting enough, Dogfish Head has also been named the Official Beer of the JAWS 50th Anniversary Celebrations taking place on Martha’s Vineyard — the very island where the iconic film was shot. It’s a summer of milestones for the coastal brewery, which first opened in Rehoboth, Delaware, in June of 1995.
“A nautical brand rooted in coastal grit, Dogfish Head has always had an inherent connection to the ocean,” said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head Brewer & Founder. “That’s why, when the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce reached out about partnering to celebrate the most legendary shark movie of all-time, we jumped at the chance. Not to mention, our logo is a shark … it doesn’t get any more kismet than that!”
Manifest the Awesomeness: Limited-Edition Collaboration with North Park Beer Co.
To mark the milestone, Dogfish Head joined forces with North Park Beer Co. out of San Diego to create Manifest The Awesomeness (6.8% ABV), a West Coast-style IPA brewed with geographically significant malt and an experimental technique called “continual drip-hopping.” This hop-forward, fruity, and resinous beer will be available on draft at Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth brewpub and Milton brewery starting Friday, June 20, and in 4-packs of 16oz cans ($18) at the Off-Centered EmPOURium in Rehoboth, while supplies last.
“We’re beyond excited to be celebrating our 30th anniversary with a collaboration as special as Manifest The Awesomeness – a beer that represents innovation, creativity, and the artistry of craft brewing,” Calagione said. “The combination of cutting-edge hopping techniques and small-producer-sourced ingredients makes this release something truly unique, and we can’t wait for beer lovers to experience the bold flavors and incredible character we’ve crafted together with our friends at North Park!”
Fans wanting to learn more about the collaboration can attend a Fireside Chat with Calagione and members of North Park Beer Co. on Sunday, June 22, from 6–7 p.m. at the Dogfish INN in Lewes.
A Celebration Stretching from Delaware to Martha’s Vineyard
While Delaware plays host to Dogfish Head’s official birthday festivities, the brewery’s presence will also be felt far up the East Coast at the JAWS 50th Anniversary Celebrations on Martha’s Vineyard, happening Friday, June 20, and Saturday, June 21. As the official beer sponsor, Dogfish Head will be integrated into multiple island events honoring the film’s legacy.
Founded in 1995 as the First State’s first brewpub and one of the smallest commercial breweries in the U.S., Dogfish Head has grown into a household name in craft beer, with a production brewery and distillery in Milton, a canal-front beer-themed hotel in Lewes, and two bustling restaurants in Rehoboth Beach. Yet through it all, the brand has stayed true to its mission: to serve “off-centered goodness for off-centered people.”
Whether you’re celebrating in coastal Delaware or on the beaches of Martha’s Vineyard, this is a birthday—and a summer—you won’t want to miss.
