This month, DC Brau celebrates 10 years of the brewery’s highly acclaimed On the Wings of Armageddon (OTWOA) Imperial IPA with a collectible package designed by Kayliegh Tanthorey. The beer will light up shelves in the DC metropolitan area starting October 28th, 2022.
With a score of 98 on RateBeer and 96 on Beer Advocate, OTWOA has topped the local beer charts since its inception. It came to fame during the craft beer trading craze of the past ten years, and it continues to be one of the most popular brews ever made by the local DC craft beer pioneer.
“On the Wings of Armageddon was originally conceptualized to memorialize the end of the world and from that end came the beginning of something that has lasted the test of time” – says Brandon Skall, CEO of DC Brau Brewing, “We never could have imagined that OTWOA would have carved such a niche in the world of beer and we couldn’t be more proud of how relevant this beer still is.”
The flavor profile of OTWOA features a strong bouquet of citrus and grapefruit, with forward hop character and hints of resinous tropical notes. Light bread and biscuit undertones balance the brew’s Falconer’s Flight hops for a smooth and refreshingly dry finish, making the brew deceptively easy drinking at a whopping 9.2% ABV.
Churchkey will host a release party to commemorate the milestone release on Friday, October 28th. The beer’s initial release took place at Churchkey on December 21st, 2012, the same day that the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world to take place.

On the Wings of Armageddon will be available in four-packs of 12-ounce cans via the brewery’s website (dcbrau.com/order) or through your favorite craft beer retailer and restaurants throughout the region starting Friday, October 28th.
DC Brau has additional releases scheduled this fall and winter that include Alternate Gourd, A Pumpkin Spice Ale, Spawn of Space Reaper IPA, Holiday Ginger, A Holiday-Style Ginger Ale and Wake Up in the Future, the brewery’s annual prestige barrel-aged stout release.
