DC Brau Rocks New Brew with Darkest Hour

DC Brau’s first collaboration of the year, Savor the Swill with the band Darkest Hour, hits taps in DC this month, as the brewery is in the midst of working with a number of breweries on special brews for the Craft Brewers Conference in April.

All metal fans will have a new beer to savor when Darkest Hour hits town this month. In honor of the band’s 20th anniversary & the release of their ninth studio album, DC Brau teamed up with the guys for a collaboration we’re calling SAVOR THE SWILL. This German-style Helles lager will be released on Saturday in the tasting room during a Meet & Greet with the band.

Savor the Swill is a light, golden German lager with lively, natural carbonation that touts aromas of lightly-kilned malt, grain and cracker with a subtle herbal hop presence. A clean fermentation profile, low alcohol content (5% ABV), and a perfect ratio between the Czech Republic 2 Row Pilsner malt & Hallertau Mittelfruh hops contribute to this well-balanced, meticulously crafted, domestic interpretation of one of Germany’s most delicate lagers.

The beer will be available in limited release in can & on draft in the District only starting on Saturday. Members of Darkest Hour will be at the brewery during growler hours to help introduce the beer with a special meet and greet. There will be special STS glassware & t-shirts available during the event.
