Chuckanut Brewery is excited to announce the Export Stout that was aging in Westland Distillery whiskey barrels since December 2024 has now been packaged into kegs and cans ready to enjoy. This particular batch of Export Stout has been sitting in the whiskey barrels for more than a year and finishes off at 9.2% ABV. A beautiful strong ale that’s balanced and clean tasting despite its rich dark color and flavors. Chuckanut Barrel Aged Export Stout has notes of dried fruit and molasses with hints of vanilla followed by a rounded roasted malt finish with dark chocolate flavors. The higher alcohol gives this beer a full body balanced by a hop presence that helps make this Stout clean and smooth without any cloying sweetness. The perfect beverage for a cold evening warmed by a cozy fire.
Barrel Aged Stout makes a great accompaniment to roasted meats like lamb and steak. Trying it with mac and cheese topped with bacon you’ll love it. Chuckanut BA Stout can also be paired with all kinds of chocolates, semi-sweet or milk, the flavors of both are enhanced by the richness of the beer. Even better would be the Barrel Aged Stout with a chocolate salted mousse! This aged stout is in limited supplies on draft and in cans around the Northwest, get it when you see it in your favorite store or pub.
