Ironbark Ciderworks will cease operations on Sept. 30, ending nearly a decade of producing craft cider in Southern California.
The award-winning California cidery announced the closure in a brief statement to BREWER & Cider Business, saying it will offer its production equipment, taproom assets and cider formulations for sale as it winds down the business.
“Ironbark Ciderworks in Claremont, California, will cease operations on September 30, 2026, after nearly ten years of producing distinctive, award-winning craft cider,” wrote owner Catherine Fleming.
As part of the closure, the cidery is marketing its production assets, including cider-making equipment, taproom furnishings and other business assets. The company also said its original cider recipes and formulations may be available to qualified buyers.
“Ironbark’s cidery equipment, production assets, taproom furnishings and other chattels are being offered for sale,” she said. “Original cider recipes and formulations are also available to qualified interested parties.”
The company suggested the sale could appeal to existing cider producers looking to expand, as well as breweries, wineries, startup beverage producers and hospitality businesses interested in acquiring commercial cider-making equipment or established cider recipes.
“This may be an excellent opportunity for an existing cidery, start-up producer, brewery, winery or hospitality business seeking commercial cider-making equipment, taproom assets or established cider formulations,” she said.
Ironbark did not provide a reason for its decision to close or indicate whether another business plans to occupy the facility after operations end.
