On Saturday, May 18, Bent Paddle Brewing Co. will celebrate 11 years of business! Throughout the years Bent Paddle has grown from the original four co-founders to a team of 47 beloved employees, they have crafted over 250 unique beers, supported over 650 non-profits, and won over 65 beer and business awards along the way. The co-founders created Festiversary 11 years ago to celebrate all the “Paddlers” who have supported Bent Paddle along the way!
This year’s purple theme celebrates all things Bent Paddle and features the closing band Chase and Ovation: A Tribute to the Music of PRINCE (sponsored by Bell Bank) honoring the 40-year anniversary of Prince’s Purple Rain.
Festiversary 2024 will take place from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. Bent Paddle’s annual outdoor anniversary party takes over two square blocks surrounding the brewery and taproom in the Lincoln Park Craft District neighborhood of Duluth. There will be two stages of live music for attendees to enjoy all day long.
While beers are a highlight of the event, kids will be having just as much fun as the adults. Families with children will enjoy the Frost River and Marshall Forest School Family Activities Area filled with activities ranging from the fan-favorite Josh Peter’s Dangerous Fun Show, to board demos by Damage Boardshop, to adoptable puppies from Healing Paws Rescue, to tarot readings and the chance to “hug a hen” with Locally Laid Egg Co.

The music will go all day with local Duluth bands like Tres Osos, Baharat, Boxcar, and Saltydog bringing the hometown funk. To broader Minnesota rockers such as The Foxgloves, and Chase and Ovation: A Salute to the Music of PRINCE (sponsored by Bell Bank) bringing those big city sounds to the Festiversary stages and honoring the 40th anniversary of Prince’s iconic Purple Rain album.
Beer and beverage enthusiasts will be delighted to get their hands on Bent Paddle’s Festiversary beer and canna lineup featuring variations on the classics, specialty casks, and sours, plus a delicious line of hemp-derived THC beverages. For those that aren’t imbibing 190 Coffee and Tea is the official Festiversary N/A vendor and the spot for amazing mocktails and coffee delights within the Festiversary grounds.
The brewery is excited to have the opportunity once again to craft several one-off specialty beers for the event. Expect playful spin-offs of fan favorites including Wild Strawberry Kanu, a Banana Split Black Ale, and a Midwest Martini, the brewery’s Light Lager garnished with green olives. For fans of casks and sour beers, stop at the Production Brewery for various casks + Mango Tango and Boysenberry Slap sours!Foodies will be delighted with the Festiversary’s diverse selection of food vendors ranging from specialty wood-fired pizzas from Log Home Wood Fired Pizza to delicious ice cream from Love Creamery. Howard’s Que will be serving up authentic neighborhood BBQ while Oasis Del Norte is slinging authentic tacos, burritos, and nachos. The foodie fun doesn’t stop there. Festiversary goers will have plenty of options as there will be six additional food vendors to taste test.
Festiversary tickets are $30 (+ tax) in advance online and in the taproom until closing time on Friday, May 17th, and $40 at the gate the day of. Tickets include admission, access to all the live music, and vendors, a commemorative pint glass while supplies last, and the first pour of beer or THC+ beverage for free!
