AleSmith Brewing Company has aged their iconic Speedway Stout in premium Bourbon barrels and releasing it outside of the brewery for the first time in company history. Barrel-Aged Speedway Stout is starting to hit shelves nationwide with a new look and 12oz bottle format.
Speedway Stout is one of AleSmith’s most highly awarded beers and sought after by any dark beer afficionado. With their extensive barrel-aged beer program, AleSmith Brewing filled premium Bourbon barrels with their Imperial Stout with coffee for up to one year. At 13.3% ABV, this brew pours pitch back with an intense character of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon, fruit, and coconut. This decadent treat is full-bodied with a rich and creamy finish. Designed to be enjoyed now or aged in the bottle for years to come.
When asked about the motivation for the reduced bottle size, AleSmith Owner, Peter Zien remarked, “For years, fans of our Barrel-Aged beer program have enjoyed our offerings in the large 750ml (25.4 oz.) glass bottle format. This size was ideal for cellaring beer and sharing with friends but with changing consumer preferences, we wanted to offer a size that could be shared or enjoyed by one.”
You can now purchase Barrel-Aged Speedway Stout in 12oz bottles at the AleSmith Tasting Room and at select retailers across the country. To find it near you, use AleSmith’s Beer Finder at https://alesmith.com/find-our-beer/.
