Retro Inspired Flavors, Modern Craftsmanship
The Float Shoppe brand delivers nostalgia with a contemporary twist. Inspired by classic soda fountains and ice cream parlors, the line features colorful retro branding for a playful mix of carefully crafted vibrant, nostalgic flavors. The initial launch includes four varieties in assorted THC doses:
- Lemon Lime Rickey – 5mg THC
- Root Beer – 5mg THC
- Cherry Cola – 10mg THC
- Orange Creamsicle – 10mg THC
Why Social Soda? Crafted with real cane sugar and natural flavors, Float Shoppe Social Sodas are low calorie, gluten free, non-alcoholic, and contain less than 5g of added sugar per can. All flavors will be sold in 12 oz. can 4-Packs. Beginning in February, The Float Shoppe will launch with authorized retailers in select markets, including onsite at the Great Lakes brewpub and gift shop.
Reaching New Audiences
Great Lakes continues to diversify its beverage portfolio to meet an ever-changing market. In 2025 the brewery began offering a limited THC-infused seltzer exclusively in its gift shop. Co-CEO Chris Brown underscores the importance of versatility in today’s market. “Consumers are looking for options tailored to specific occasions and lifestyles. The Float Shoppe connects us with new audiences, while staying relevant for fans who already love and trust Great Lakes, and want to explore new experiences.” It also has unique characteristics to appeal to a wide variety of drinkers. “With better-for-you sodas growing in popularity, younger drinkers seeking big flavors, and older audiences beginning to embrace hemp-infused beverages, The Float Shoppe has potential to hit right down the middle,” Brown said.
A Trusted Standard in an Emerging Category
As THC-infused beverages gain momentum in the craft beverage market, GLBC brings decades of expertise in quality control and compliance. Co-CEO Steven Pauwels notes the brewery’s advantages. “Craft brewers are uniquely qualified to step into this space. We already operate with rigorous testing, safety protocols, and clear labeling standards. Consumers know Great Lakes for consistency and craftsmanship, and The Float Shoppe reflects those same values and standards.”
Positioned for Growth
GLBC leadership continues to monitor cannabis legislation and advocate for common-sense labeling and regulatory standards at both state and federal levels. To start, The Float Shoppe will initially launch onsite at GLBC and in select states to be announced. Marketing Director Vicki Campana notes the long-term opportunity, “Being able to offer THC-infused products is vital for the growth of our industry. We look forward to expanding distribution and eventually exploring online sales, but our focus right now is getting this exciting new line into the hands of as many customers as possible.”
