The Saint Louis Brewery, brewer of Schlafly Beer, announced today the appointment of James “Otto” Ottolini as CEO. Ottolini has worked with Schlafly in various roles for over 24 years. He has worked in all aspects of the brewing industry since 1992 and has an Executive MBA from Washington University.
David Schlafly, who has served as interim CEO for the last two years, is thrilled to have a respected and accomplished leader assume the role. “Otto has been a part of the Schlafly Beer family for a long time. He has the experience and perspective to build on the success that we’ve achieved over the past 34 years. He also understands the needs of our organization, how to navigate the challenges of the industry, and how we can best serve our communities. Our longstanding Schlafly employees really respect him and are excited to see him at the helm.”
Ottolini says, “I look forward to serving the customers, bars, restaurants and off-premise retailers who have supported Schlafly for over 30 years. I am committed to continuing Schlafly’s mission to brew great beer and foster a sense of community, whether it’s at our brewpubs, bars around town, or in the homes of our consumers. I’m excited to take all I have learned in my career and position us for the future.”
David Schlafly will continue to have an active role in the company, and Chairman of Schlafly Beer Tom Schlafly also fully support’s Ottolini’s new role. He states, “I’ve known Otto since he started with us in 1992. He understands what we’re all about. We don’t compromise on quality and the customers’ needs are our highest priority. He understands our commitment to the St. Louis community.”
