Dart Controls, an industry leader in variable speed drives, controls, and accessories for electric motors, was recently inducted into the Indiana Manufacturer’s Association (IMA) Hall of Fame. The prestigious award, which recognizes Dart’s long-time commitment to the industry, investment in the state, and ongoing efforts to elevate Indiana’s manufacturing sector and economy, was presented as part of the IMA’s Manufacturing Day Celebration. Dart Controls has a long history of manufacturing motor controls in their Zionsville, Indiana factory and supplying them to customers worldwide.

“We’re thrilled and humbled to be inducted into the IMA Hall of Fame” said Dart President Mark Lewis. “Ever since our founders developed their first motor speed control in 1963, we’ve been developing variable speed controls and accessories for AC and DC motors in our Zionsville factory. We’re honored to be recognized for what has truly been a team effort over the past 60-plus years.”

With over 2 million units shipped worldwide, Dart Controls has earned a reputation for delivering reliable, American-made solutions that combine quality engineering with practical innovation. They serve a wide range of industries with both standard and custom-designed motor speed controls and accessories for AC, DC, and brushless motor applications. All Dart products are manufactured in the US under ISO-certified processes emphasizing consistent quality, fast turnaround, and responsive service.

Lewis credits their long-standing partnership with Grainger for their ongoing success, as it fundamentally changed the way they do business. To meet Grainger’s shipment within 72 hours policy, Dart adopted lean manufacturing. The fast delivery, 3-5 days for anything in their extensive catalog, now benefits all their other customers as well, differentiating them from others in the motor controls marketplace.
