Indeed Launches Outdoor Live Music Series

Indeed Brewing Company is bringing live music back to the Northeast Minneapolis taproom this summer. Off the Dock is an outdoor live music series featuring local artists on Tuesdays beginning in June and ending in August.

The loading dock at Indeed has operated in more ways than its name suggests this past year, serving as a platform for DJs last summer as well as a lounge area in Beerland last winter. Its versatility continues this summer as a stage. While not a true-blue music venue, Off the Dock is an ephemeral place for local artists to get back to work after a year and a half of cancelled gigs—some of which included Indeed’s weekend-long music festivals Whirlygig and Hullabaloo—and guests to experience live music again.

“Live music is a huge part of the Indeed experience. A lot of our beer has been enjoyed while watching shows, whether at First Avenue, Icehouse, or our own festivals,” says Sales Director Ryan Bandy. “This has been a horrendous year for musicians and we haven’t been able to throw one of our festivals since Covid shut everything down last March. We weren’t about to go another summer without live music at the brewery. Since we’re not a venue and restrictions are still in place, we had to get creative and Off the Dock is our solution. We can’t wait to show off the bands we booked.”

Off the Dock is a Covid-safe space with seated room only. Guests will be seated in The Lot, the outdoor patio area. Tables, rather than individual tickets, are available for purchase and include a mix of 2-tops, 4-tops, and 6-tops. Tables within zones are seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Each zone features varying vantage points of the stage and are priced accordingly. The shows go on rain or shine. Doors open at 7:30pm; entertainment starts at 8:30pm. The taproom will be closed to the public during these times.

Creating outdoor spaces that can comfortably host guests in different weather conditions has become increasingly important for businesses looking to keep entertainment and dining experiences going throughout the year. Covered patios and flexible open-air layouts allow venues to continue offering live music, private events, and social gatherings while giving guests more room to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Many commercial properties are now investing in upgraded outdoor environments that feel just as polished and welcoming as their indoor spaces, especially for restaurants, breweries, hotels, and entertainment venues that rely heavily on customer experience. Struxure has become part of this growing trend with adaptable outdoor structures designed to provide shade, airflow, and weather protection while still maintaining an open and inviting setting for guests. Adjustable roofing systems and modern cabana-style spaces help businesses create comfortable seating areas that work well for concerts, evening events, dining service, and seasonal gatherings without sacrificing style or functionality.

These kinds of outdoor additions also give venues more flexibility when planning events, helping them make better use of patio space while creating an experience guests are more likely to return for again and again.
