Wilding Brands, (https://wildingbrands.com), an innovative, local, founder-owned portfolio of craft beverage brands, today announces the acquisition of Boulder, Colo.-based Upslope Brewing Company.
Founded in 2008 and a local favorite, Upslope’s craft beers have garnered multiple awards, from the signature Craft Lager to the Citra Pale Ale, and the company has recently expanded to offer the Non-Alcoholic Craft Light, Spiked Snowmelt Craft Hard Seltzer, and Hard Yerba Mate. Upslope is known for its connection to the outdoors and enjoying the Rocky Mountains as well as a focus on sustainability in processes, operations and materials.
“We’re beyond proud to welcome Upslope to Wilding Brands. We’ve been fans and friends of the Upslope team for years. Matt, Dany and Henry built a brand with a meticulous approach to great beer, a focus on the community and capturing the Colorado spirit,” said Eric Foster, CEO, Wilding Brands. “Since day one our goal with Wilding has been to create an incredible family of Colorado craft beverage companies that retain their individuality and the quality beverages and experiences that made them who they are, all backed by our team – among the most talented professionals in the industry. Upslope is a perfect fit.”
The Upslope locations will remain open, including the Boulder taprooms at Lee Hill and Flatirons Park, and Aprés Outpost in Silverthorne. The taprooms are not part of the acquisition and remain under the management of the previous owner/operator. Production of Upslope craft beverages will move to Wilding’s production facility in Denver, and Upslope fans will continue to find their favorite craft beers in taprooms and on retail shelves, including rotating seasonals and limited-edition brews.
“Seventeen years in, you want to know the brand you built will keep thriving with people who care as much as you do,” said Matt Cutter, Founder and President of Upslope Brewing. “Eric and the Wilding team share that same passion for quality and community, and we really appreciate their vision for the future and their plan to keep evolving Colorado’s craft beverage industry. I’m also glad our taprooms will continue to be part of that story.”
Upslope is Wilding’s third notable portfolio expansion in 2025, and follows the acquisitions of Great Divide Brewing Co. in April and Station 26 Brewing Co. in June. With the acquisition, Wilding Brands’ annual production is now over 80,000 barrels of craft beverages, making it the second largest independent craft beverage company in the State of Colorado.
Financial details of the acquisition are not being disclosed.
