Squatters Craft Beers, in partnership with the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign, is raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research during the month of October.
Squatters #1 selling brand – Hop Rising Double IPA, will be temporarily packaged in a pink can during October, breast cancer awareness month. Squatters Craft Beers has pledged to donate $0.05 for each pink can of Squatters Hop Rising sold during the campaign.
Real Men Wear Pink advocates, alongside or in memory of the women in their lives touched by cancer, will join in the fight against this deadly disease. Activists are encouraged to don their hop pink, mobilize their communities and compete to be the top fundraiser in support of lifesaving research and patient- support services.
“We are so excited to be partnering with Real Men Wear Pink on this awareness campaign”, says Amy Tangaro, Marketing Manager with Squatters Craft Beers. “We have two men within our brewery that have signed up as Real Men Wear Pink Advocates so far with more to come. Unfortunately, you don’t have to look far to find people who have been affected by breast cancer. As a company, we have always taken pride in giving back to the community that has been so gracious to us. We are thrilled to jump on another opportunity to do just that!” continues Tangaro.
Squatters Hop Rising is currently sold in 19 states and the pink cans will be distributed to each, including Squatters’ home state of Utah, where Hop Rising remains the top-selling craft beer in the market. “It is the same great beer, but now with a cause! We have been greeted with a great response from our vendors and customers so far. You can feel even better enjoying Hop Rising, knowing that as a result you are giving back,” adds Squatters Craft Beers Director of Brewery Operations, Adam Curfew.
According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts & Figures 2017, an estimated 1,460 women in the Utah will be diagnosed with breast cancer and an estimated 270 will die from the disease this year.
