Attention to all dads who like beer, sons and daughters of dads who like beer, or anyone who loves hazy Double IPAs. This Father’s Day we’ll be releasing a VERY SPECIAL Double IPA we’re calling “Let’s go, Daddy-O!”
It’s another whale of a DIPA made entirely from oats and wheat with a fatherload of Azacca, Vic Secret, and Simcoe hops. The beer, its name, and its artwork are in honor of Modist’s first daddy/daughter combo: Dixon and Veda, both of whom have been with us since before Day 1. Full details below.
The beer is designed to be one of Dixon’s faves: a beautifully hazy DIPA that’s made entirely from oats and wheat (#mashfilter) and heavily hopped with Azacca, Vic Secret, and Simcoe. It’s a soft, full-dad-bodied beer that’s packed full of aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, stone fruit, citrus and pine. It clocks in 8.6% ABV.
The naming and artwork credit goes straight to Dixon’s 3-yr-old daughter Veda, whose recent discovery of the term “Daddy-O” as a replacement for “Dad” came at a perfect time. The artwork, plucked straight from the Dixon family’s fridge, is Veda’s hyper-realistic rendition of her dad. This masterpiece simultaneously captures the inner giant potato-ness of Dixon’s father figure AND the fact that his hair does in fact float slightly above his head.
