Mayflower Releases OttoBahn Lager

On July 27 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Mayflower released OttoBahn, a Helles-style German lager. Quality Pilsner, Vienna, and Munich malts give the beer a very faint sweetness that drifts away quickly. Classic German Tettnang and Hallertau hops compliment with earthy notes. This beer pours a crystal clear golden straw. It is dry and refreshing, rounded out by spicy and floral notes.

Head brewer, Ryan Gwozdz, comments that Mayflower “brewed the beer as a homage to [his] brewdog, Otto, and that long lagering gives this beer a smoothness perfect for hot summer days.”

Otto, a German shorthaired pointer mix, is Mayflower’s most famed employee. With a dog friendly tasting room, and Otto often seeking attention and treats, their customers quickly grew to love Otto. When naming this easy drinking German lager, Mayflower was inspired to take Otto back to his roots where the autobahn motorway has no speed limits. Enjoy responsibly!

OttoBahn is on tap today, July 27, in the Mayflower tasting room at 4pm for tastings, flights, pints, and growler fills. 4 packs of 16 ounce cans will be available while they last. OttoBahn will be heading out into the New England market as well.
