Mayflower Celebrating 400th Anniversary of Plymouth

Mayflower Brewing Company releases 400, a new Double IPA at 8% ABV on Thursday, January 2. Mayflower has been counting up with beers 398 and 399 the past several years, and now the 400th Anniversary of America’s Hometown is here and 400 will be brewed throughout 2020.

400 pours a hazy and opaque — orange gold. Columbus, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops including a generous double dry hop, create aromas of citrus rind, ripe mango, and grapefruit zest. Pours with a slight head that dissipates quickly. Minimal bitterness throughout. Slight sweetness on the finish. Mouthfeel is amazingly soft and pillowy — the most delicate NEDIPA we have produced yet.

Head brewer, Jay Southwood, comments, “Working on this series has been fun and exciting for us as each year’s beer has evolved into the next. We were chasing different flavor profiles and aromas, knowing it only felt right to represent one of the most popular beer styles in New England, the New England IPA.  We are really happy with where we landed for 400 and hope you will join us in raising a pint to toast this place we are all fortunate to call our community. Cheers to another 400 years, Plymouth!”

Mayflower Brewing Company invites you to their 400th Anniversary Celebration at the brewery on Saturday, January 25 from 12-9 p.m. The whole brewery will be open with live music in the warehouse from Mike McHugh Band 1-4pm and Fey Band 5-8 p.m. Food will be available from Wolf Pizza, Brothers Cache, Speedwell Tavern, and Su Casa. Follow along on the Facebook event for any special super limited draft only releases for the event.

Along with the release of 400, Mayflower is pleased to introduce their newly updated branding. Visitors of the tap room will start to see some new merchandise available in the coming weeks.
