Maine Brewers’ Guild Returns with 6th New England Craft Brew Summit

After taking a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Maine Brewers’ Guild will return with the sixth New England Craft Brew Summit, on March 31, 2022, at Holiday Inn By the Bay in Portland, Maine. In a nod to the incredible growth of the industry in the past decade, this year’s event will focus on Standing Out in a Crowded Marketplace.

The past 20 months has been a tumultuous time for the craft beer industry, but according to a recent survey by the Maine Brewers’ Guild, 43 percent of brewers reported that business was better than expected this summer, and 87 percent reported optimism about their future.

“Despite cost increases and ongoing supply chain challenges, collaboration amongst craft brewers continues to flourish and the market for craft beer continues to grow,” said Sean Sullivan,  executive director of the Maine Brewers’ Guild. “The strong community around craft beer has been the key to the resiliency of our industry in the past 18 months, and the new business models that have been developed position craft beer well for the future.”

Presented by GHM Insurance Agency, the full-day conference will feature live talks and panel discussions from brewers and brewery owners, blended with practical advice on a wide range of topics currently impacting the craft brew industry, from supply chain challenges and tax issues to brewery safety and marketing techniques to help each brewer stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Held in late February 2020, the last New England Craft Brew Summit drew more than 500 attendees, from 13 states, and more than 50 breweries from across the country. This year, organizers expect a robust crowd as brewers look to the future and refine their business models to serve the new economy.
