Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) introduces Cold Rush Premium Light Lager. Cold Rush is GLBC’s first packaged light lager, a crafted yet crushable brew at 4.0% alcohol by volume (ABV), 100 calories, and 6 grams carbs.
Cold Rush debuts mid-August in 12-Pack 12 oz. Cans, exclusively in Northeast Ohio. It also appears throughout GLBC’s footprint in the Fall Edition of the brewery’s Gimme Five! Variety Pack, with Midwest IPA, Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, Cran Orange Wheat, and the new-look, same-taste Dortmunder Gold Lager (artwork coming soon).
Cold Rush Premium Light Lager presents a fresh opportunity for GLBC to reach new drinkers. “Cold Rush rounds out our portfolio,” notes Interim Co-CEO Chris Brown. “A $14.99 light lager 12-Pack helps us earn retail space beyond craft and creates an accessible entry to our brand for new drinkers. Now we cover the whole spectrum from the domestic drinker to the fruit-forward fans, to double IPA and barrel aged lovers.”
Cold Rush’s silver and blue packaging evokes cool refreshment, and the GLBC name appears as a mark of quality. “Lagers are riding a wave of popularity, and we’ve been a lager brewery from day one. As an independent brewery built on award-winning lagers it was important to include the Great Lakes name. The can is an homage to retro light lagers of the past, with a clean modern look to stand out in the super premium section,” said Brown.
Cold Rush Premium Light Lager releases in 12-Pack Cans in the GLBC gift shop on August 9 prior to its mid-August Northeast Ohio market debut.
