Eddyline Brewery Releases Seasonal ’14’er’ Imperial Java Stout

Eddyline Brewery collaborates with the Buena Vista Roastery for the seasonal release of the “14’er” Imperial Java Stout available in 16 ounce four-packs at liquor stores throughout Colorado. The Arkansas River Valley is home to 14,000 foot peaks and this beer fits the bill. A rich Imperial Java Stout with 60 pounds of 100% organic Papua New Guinea coffee beans and loads of roasted chocolate malts makes this the perfect winter craft beer.

“The coffee and roasted barley are perfectly balanced in our 14’er Imperial Java Stout. As opposed to last season, coffee was the boldest flavor. I enjoy the slight sweetness this year to complement the bitterness of the coffee beans,” explained Brewer, Alex Topper.

The Buena Vista Roastery works at high elevation which allows them to keep temperatures lower than at sea level. This helps to develop natural sugars in the coffee beans. Eddyline worked closely with the Buena Vista Roastery to select a coffee bean with a low acidic profile. Papua New Guinea 100 percent organic specialty grade coffee bean was the perfect balance to magnify the sweetness from the chocolate notes. Collaborating with local businesses and the use of organic ingredients is significant to the Eddyline business model.

“The Buena Vista Roastery is proud to be in collaboration with Eddyline in their production of their seasonal 14’er Java Stout. The coffee used – Papua New Guinea – was selected for its low acid profile, notes of chocolate and spice and a moderate degree of sweetness on the finish. Eddyline performs the real magic by merging their ingredients with ours, creating what has become our go-to cold season beer,” stated Operations Manager, Ed.
