Diskin Cider Launches Wassail Fest, New Hopped Cider

Diskin Cider, Nashville’s first and only craft cidery, will be officially launching a brand new seasonal cider called WeHo at their upcoming Wassail Fest event taking place this Friday, February 22. The inaugural Wassail Fest event honors the traditional revelry of wassailing (Old English for “Be Healthy”), a rollicking medieval drinking custom intended to ensure a good apple harvest and to celebrate the apple tree. In addition to the new cider, guests will be treated to a lively evening performance by local pop artist Tim Halperin as well as free swag and information given out by the Jump by Uber Scooter team. Festive costumes are encouraged.

WeHo will be the first cider to integrate hops and is intended to showcase the versatility of cider as a product, especially to the craft beer community. The local cider company utilized semi-dry cider and hopped it with over a pound per barrel of fresh Citra and Cascade hops, imparting fruity, floral and tropical characteristics. WeHo is produced using only fresh-pressed apple juice and hops, does not contain added sugars or flavorings and is naturally gluten-free.

Diskin Cider is proud to bring true local craft cider to Tennessee and the South. Bridging the gap between wine and beer, Diskin Cider’s bold, flavorful, small-batch ciders break the mold of overly sweet cider with the natural flavor of fresh-pressed apples. The tasting room is located at 1235 Martin Street in the vibrant Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood.
