Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the release of its brand-new Second Cut Mango Double IPA.

The 8.5% ABV Double IPA joins the Hershey, PA-based brewery’s rotating Once-a-Year series, which includes iconic beers like Mad Elf, Nugget Nectar, and Nimble Giant.

Second Cut features two complementary ingredients – citrusy Simcoe hops and sweet mango.

Tröegs adds more than 12 pounds per barrel of real mango during the fermentation process to lend a sweet, fruity finish to the beer. Second Cut’s combination of hops and fruit yields notes of juicy mango, pineapple, and raw honey.

The inspiration behind the beer’s name is twofold. It’s a nod to hop farmers, who dust off their pruning shears and prep their hop bines for a rich growing season. Also, it’s a callback to the independent brewery’s fan-favorite First Cut IPA.

“We’re always searching for new flavors to showcase in our seasonal beers,” explains Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “Over the years, First Cut has become a cult classic, so we thought we’d create something bigger and bolder for those fans.”

Second Cut Mango Double IPA is available on draft and in 16-ounce cans across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint.
