Sulfur Guard™ by MicroPure® Filtration purifies compressed air and gas streams by removing sulfur compounds, aromatic hydrocarbons, and aldehydes plus other potential contaminants through chemical adsorption. Ideal as a bulk or point of use vapor polisher.
Designed specifically to adsorb sulfur compounds, Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S), and Carbonyl Sulfide (COS) than can be present in air or gas streams, this proven technology also removes benzene, hexane, volatile oxygenated hydrocarbons, and some aldehydes better than traditional activated carbon filters. A unique formulation of filter adsorbents has special properties that, when combined with activated carbon, chemically converts H₂S and COS into a stable form, ensuring that the adsorbed contaminants will not de-orb back into the pure filtered Air/Gas stream.
The large capacity filter element allows high flows at low pressure drop, which allows a much smaller filter to be used as compared to traditional carbon filter housings. This proven technology uses a multi-stage approach to purify Air and Gas and remove potentially harmful submicron particle contaminants and bacteria which may cause off-flavors and spoilage problems. Sulfur Guard™ is ideal for Carbonated soft drink production, breweries and beverage processing and packaging plants, and anywhere that pure Compressed Air and Gas Quality is critical.
Under normal levels of contamination, the filter cartridges should be changed every 12 months. The filter media is completely contained in the filter element, so there is no loose, messy carbon to change. Easy access to filter elements allows quick and easy filter changes.
How it Works
Effective and economical filtration media specifically designed for compressed air and gas streams is just one part of the Sulfur Guard multi-stage CO2 purification system. Stage 1 includes a coalescing filter to remove liquid, oil and large particulates. Stage 2 removes aromatic hydrocarbons, while stage 3 removes sulfur compounds, oxygenated aromatic hydrocarbons, and aldehydes. In stage 5, a particulate filter removes particles and bacteria down to 0.01 micron level.
