After three years at The Wool Factory, Selvedge Brewing is moving into its own dedicated taproom in the Bellair neighborhood just west of Charlottesville. Selvedge is now open to the public at its new location at 2415 Ivy Road.
“We’re really excited about this transition. This move places us in an excellent location and gives our brewing operations the space we need to grow,” said Selvedge Head Brewer Josh Skinner. “In our new home, Selvedge’s mission will remain the same; serving our community with high quality beer and sharing it alongside great food in a fun, welcoming space.”
At the time of opening, Selvedge will offer indoor seating for around 100 guests, with outdoor seating to be added in the Summer of 2024. Brewing operations will continue offsite in the near term. Once fully complete, Selvedge’s new brewery will feature a 10 BBL brewhouse with multi step and decoction mash capabilities, horizontal lagering tanks for additional focus on traditional lager styles, space for expanded clean barrel aging and mixed fermentation projects, and an on-site canning line. Selvedge will share the almost 5000 sf production space with sister brand, Snowing in Space, a cold brew brand operated by Grit Coffee.
“We’re excited to join the thriving businesses in the newly restored Bellair Place. The redevelopment of the property has brought a great new vibrancy to this area of town and we look forward to serving as a neighborhood gathering place,” said Brandon Wooten, Selvedge’s Chief Brand Officer.
Selvedge Brewing is part of Bread & Table, a Charlottesville-based management group that also owns and operates The Wool Factory, Broadcloth, The Workshop, Grit Coffee, and Snowing in Space.
