Saugatuck Brewing Company (SBC) and Ferris Coffee, two Michigan-owned and independently operated companies, brewed up a partnership to release Espresso Tini Coffee Stout — a decadent, classic cocktail-inspired stout brewed with Ferris’ flagship 1924 Espresso.
A nod to the resurgence of the iconic Espresso Martini, this 6% ABV stout layers bold coffee character with a silky-smooth, dessert-like finish. Rich with notes of dark chocolate, vanilla bean, roasted malts, and a touch of nuttiness, the beer is brewed with oats and lactose for a creamy body reminiscent of a perfect crema — a stout with bar-cart charisma that’s roasty, velvety, a little fancy, but always fun.
“This beer represents what happens when two Michigan makers bring their crafts together,” said John Miller, CEO of Saugatuck Brewing Company. “We’re proud to partner with Ferris Coffee and create something that not only tastes incredible but also highlights the best of what independent, local businesses can do.”
At the center of the recipe is Ferris’ 1924 Espresso, a light roast crafted from Central and South American coffees, including beans from La Tacita farm in Guatemala’s Antigua region. Known for its chocolatey body, citric sweetness, and elegant balance, the espresso adds depth and distinction to the stout.
“This collaboration came together so naturally—it felt like working with old friends who share our Michigan roots and passion for craft,” said Sarah Eyk of Ferris Coffee. “We’re proud of what we roast and where we’re from, and seeing our 1924 Espresso take on new life in this beer is both bold and beautiful.”
The result is a stout that bridges craft beer and cocktail culture: approachable enough for brunch, bold enough for a late-night toast, and stylish enough to sit alongside a classic cocktail.
This limited release will be available in 6-pack 12oz cans, draft, and nitro at Saugatuck Brewing Company’s Douglas taproom, and will roll out across Michigan and into neighboring markets beginning October 1st.
