Renovations are underway at MadTree Parks & Rec, the company’s third restaurant/brewery location in Summit Park, set to open in the Spring of 2025. MadTree is continuing their sustainable tradition of taking an old space and repurposing it, converting an existing 15,000 sf airplane hangar into an indoor/outdoor restaurant and DORA destination.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the Blue Ash community and an extension of Summit Park. This location truly delivers on MadTree’s mission of connecting people to nature and each other,” says Co-Founder Brady Duncan. “Working with the City and the Parks team has been such a rewarding way to grow a public/private partnership.”

Director of Blue Ash Parks and Recreation, Brian Kruse says, “The relationship with MadTree is a natural one that aligns with the community vitality efforts of Summit Park. The foundation of what MadTree is all about as a company fits perfectly in a park setting.”

The location is set to be LEED Silver certified and will include a spacious taproom, solarium and massive outdoor beer garden and recreation area. The space will boast many amenities and cool features like a giant tree sculpture, living walls, a “campground” area with a refurbished camper, games, and an outdoor playscape for kids.

In addition to being sustainable, the space is being designed to be inclusive as well. There will be accessible seating, including a lowered bar for wheelchair access, a calming room, an adult changing table and many vegan and gluten free menu options for people with dietary restrictions.

“It was really important to us to design this space as thoughtfully and inclusively as possible,” said Rhiannon Hoeweler, MadTree VP of Experience & Impact. “We continue to learn from our current locations, and we’re building those learnings into Blue Ash to make Parks & Rec the best space possible.”

Like their Oakley and Alcove locations, MadTree Parks & Rec will also have two larger private event spaces, available to rent for weddings, business meetings, fundraisers or any special occasion. The MadTree team is already booking events in advance of their opening and more information can be found here.

MadTree is thrilled their new location is underway, and they’re also excited their team will grow yet again, increasing employee headcount by nearly 100. With the addition of so many new employees, MadTree is able to commit to even more volunteer hours in the community, helping local environmental nonprofits, and planting even more trees throughout Cincinnati.
