The Sunshine-makers at Lawson’s Finest Liquids have been honored by the Good Food Foundation with a Good Food Award for the second year in a row! This year’s award goes to Lawson’s Finest Liquids’ Mad River Maple Ale (8% ABV), recognized as a “tasty, authentic and responsible food.” You can find this decorated seasonal release on draft or in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans across Vermont and at Lawson’s Finest Liquids’ Waitsfield destination brewery and taproom year-round, or at a retailer within their 9-state distribution area this fall.

Maple syrup is synonymous with authentic Vermont flavor. Lawson’s Finest Liquids brews Mad River Maple with Purinton Maple Syrup. A celebration of locally-cultivated flavor, this ale delivers a smooth, palate-pleasing mouthfeel with a slightly sweet finish. Mad River Maple was also honored with a silver medal at the 2023 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category (Syrup lovers can order Lawson’s Finest’s Purinton Maple Syrup directly from the brewery’s merch shop!)

The Good Food Awards are not bestowed based on flavor alone. The Good Food Foundation recognizes that truly good food and beverages combine superior taste with social and environmental responsibility to bring people together and build strong, healthy communities—a philosophy that aligns with Lawson’s Finest Liquids’ dedication to giving back. The 2024 achievement marks the second Good Food Award for the purpose-driven brewery, which won for its Maple Tripple in 2023.

“We’re proud to be among so many exceptional brands and products that are making a difference in our nation’s food culture,” said Lawson’s Finest Liquids’ CEO Adeline Druart. “We believe strongly that we have a responsibility to contribute to our community through making great beer that makes a positive impact with every sip.”

The mission behind the beer comes to life through Lawson’s Finest Liquids’ Social Impact Program (SIP), a robust, comprehensive initiative that includes community giving, environmental endeavors and employee-first workplace efforts. To date, the brewery has donated over two million dollars to over 300 non-profit organizations. The mission of the SIP is to support vibrant communities where people thrive and the natural world is protected and enjoyed by all. Lawson’s Finest, who achieved B Corp Certification last year, released a comprehensive look at the company’s ongoing contributions and progress in the areas of community, employees, and the environment with the release of its first-ever Impact Report earlier this month.
