Four Peaks Brewing Company’s popular “Four Peaks 4 Teachers” classroom supply fundraiser is expanding statewide after six years of providing thousands of Tempe, Arizona Valley area teachers with classroom supplies. With help from partner organizations and fundraising efforts, Four Peaks will purchase enough items to fill 3,000 boxes for teachers in Phoenix, Tucson, and Flagstaff. Teachers are invited to pick up vouchers beginning July 4 and redeem them for supply boxes from July 24 – July 28.
Four Peaks’ commitment to teachers goes back to 2010 when brewery co-founder Jim Scussel learned of local teachers’ needs for basic school supplies from his own kids and customers at Four Peaks 8th St. Brewery, many of whom were teachers at Arizona State University. In an effort to help, Four Peaks asked customers, staff and family to donate supplies for teachers to pick-up at the brewery. This year there will be five supply box pick-up locations across Arizona.
“When we founded Four Peaks Brewing Company twenty years ago our goal was to bring people together and our proudest moments are when we all come together,” Four Peaks co-founder Jim Scussel said. “We’re excited to expand ‘Four Peaks 4 Teachers’ outside of Phoenix this year to assist teachers across Arizona, and we thank our partners and everyone who has helped provide our teachers with much-needed support.”
Now in its seventh year, with support from the folks at Smashburger, Shamrock Farms, Hensley Beverage Co., Treasures 4 Teachers, and Alphagraphics; Four Peaks will provide boxes of classroom items to teachers all across Arizona.
“I have participated in Four Peaks 4 Teachers in years past and love getting a box of supplies to start the school year – for free,” says Cartwright Elementary School third grade teacher David Sweeney, “I think it’s great that the program is expanding and would encourage all teachers to participate!”
The fundraising campaign runs from Monday, June 19 to Friday, July 28.
